Happy Birthday to my dad!

Today is my dad's birthday and I thought I would write a few things about him.

He's always been a great dad. He's a pretty funny guy. Slightly embarrassing at times, but I think we've all mastered the whole 'pretending like we don't know him thing' when he gets to that stage! But we all still love him! He's a hard worker and a good Christian leader for our family. He is always there during football season to talk football with me and to go to a few Cowboys games. He's the one who took me to my first Cowboys game ever. I have great memories as a child from all the cool things he did with me, like the spontaneous quick trip to Canada and when he took me to see the 1996 Olympic gold medal gymnastics team perform.

I really couldn't ask for a better dad and I'm excited because my husband has a lot of the same traits he has (minus the whole embarrassing me in public thing), so I know my future children will also get a great dad. And if he spoils his future grandchildren like he spoils my dog, they'll also have a great grandfather, too!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Happy 50th!

My mom's first response to my blog idea: "Let me guess, your blog is going to be about the Cowboys"...of course I told her she was wrong.

Well, except for tonight.

It's the 50th anniversary of my team (January 28, 1960 they became official!) and I can't not blog about that!

Since my mom wants grandkids so bad, I thought I would make a top ten list of how I don't need to have kids because the Cowboys are in so many ways like 'my kids'. Hope you enjoy the list! (and don't take it too seriously!)

1. I go to all their games and support them...even when they don't play their best. And I scream my lungs out for them.

2. I spend too much money on them.

3. I am very proud of them!

4. I take a million pictures and videos of them.

5. When I hear people make fun of them or criticize them or tease them or laugh at them, etc...I take offense and stick up for them.

6. I plan my schedule around them.

7. I get mad at them when they get in trouble with the law or when they say things they shouldn't say.

8. I support their fundraisers.

9. I don't like them to date or marry anyone I don't approve of first.

10. I have no favorites, I like each player the same. I promise. I have no favorites. There isn't one player that I like more than anyone else on the team. I don't take more pictures of one player over another and I...ok, fine maybe I do.

So, you see mom, you kind of do have grandkids...53 of them!

The first one!

Well, I decided to finally start a blog. It seems like everyone I know that has a kid, has a blog. So since I really like to plan ahead, I thought I would get the blog going before I have a kid so I'll be ready! And no, I'm not pregnant :)

My husband and I have been married 3 years this March so I guess I'll mostly write about our adventures and of course, our cute little dog, Charlie.

I just realized the most current picture I have of all 3 of us is from Christmas of last year! Maybe I should have taken that annual family photo in front of the tree this year after all....

I have no idea what I'm doing here on this blog thing, but hopefully I'll figure it out as I go! Hope you enjoy reading it!
